WSF16 - The 2016 edition
I must have read it somewhere that a web browser is one of the most complicated (garbled?) pieces of software ever made. May I say: sure thing! You could basically do all sorts of computer work through a series of browser tabs. What possibly started as an integration of the WWW with a mailer is the most integrated program today. Not only because you can now run (for example!) telcos through a browser, but merely because countless services are offered through web applications. And if you're thinking of mobile apps instead, beware that they're often trivial front-ends to web applications. Now, I haven't got my new browser to sell to you, but let me just reinstate that web security (and privacy?) is the bottom line of virtually all distributed security (and privacy!) issues. You're likely to expose your database system or cool car park technology trough a web application so... you'd better make it secure - and privacy compliant as well, seen the latest debate on the young General Data Protection Regulation.
