WSF17 - The 2017 edition
Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity, Cybesecurity! A sort of obsessive, recurring dream - or nightmare! - a ghost that may appear everywhere! Mind you, I'm not yet on carbolithium, by contrast, whoever you are, you'd better start wanting more and more of that Cybersecurity yourself. With virtually everything being interconnected, with all sorts of businesses and services being prefixed by "e-", it comes to no surprise that the crooks are specialising and catching up at all levels. At this year's event, we'll be explained how to get free train rides in Denmark, yet, for a good sake, shown how to fix such a monstrosity. And we'll be told that the automotive sector is going to boost the most widely-adopted technological applications that intertwine people's safety with not-so-fancy Cybersecurity issues. The good thing is that this debate will also come with a number of reassurances for your sleep. Some from evidence of the work of Polizia Postale, the police branch that fights digital crime in Italy. Others from analyses of the regulations, notably the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation, with its multifaceted relations to the current Codice Privacy, as well as ENISA's security guidelines for digital service providers - and users. All in all, it would seem that privacy is only a small consequence of Cybersecurity.
