{"id":63,"date":"2015-04-27T15:47:54","date_gmt":"2015-04-27T15:47:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/esslli2016.unibz.it\/?page_id=63"},"modified":"2025-06-14T10:39:45","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T10:39:45","slug":"general-contacts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dmi.unict.it\/swodch2025\/?page_id=63","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Topics of interest<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) one or more of the following topic areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conceptual analysis and ontology design for the Digital Humanities (DH):<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Domain ontologies or conceptual models for different fields of Humanities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methodological aspects of ontology development for the DH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application of formal ontology theories in the DH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Case studies and lessons learnt from the use of standard ontologies (e.g. CIDOC-CRM).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logical and ontological analysis of CIDOC-CRM or FRBR, e.g., with respect to foundational ontologies (DOLCE, UFO, BFO, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Philosophical and sociological analysis of digital models and modelling practices in DH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social studies on the policies towards the standardisation of ontologies in DH.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Semantic Web (SW) technologies for Cultural Heritage (CH) content creation, annotation, extraction:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SW architectures and infrastructures for CH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interoperability of CH collections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applying the FAIR data principles to CH data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CH knowledge graphs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Searching, querying and visualising CH data on the SW.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ontology-based access to CH data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publishing CH data on the Web.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigating through and browsing CH data on the Web.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SW solutions for trust and provenance issues in CH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SW applications for digital libraries, museums, tourism, the creative industries, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Submissions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We will accept two different types of contributions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full papers for presenting original unpublished work, neither submitted to nor accepted for presentation at any other venue. Submitted <em>full papers<\/em> should be between 10 and 12 pages, including references.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short papers for presenting work in progress, brief descriptions of doctoral theses, or general overviews of research projects. Submitted <em>short papers<\/em> should be between 6 and 8 pages, including references.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All contributions to the workshop must be submitted according to the 1-column CEUR-ART style format.
