The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Catania University, jointly with ST Microelectronics Catania Site and the EU Project COMSON organize the International Summer School on "Modelling and Optimization in Micro- and Nano- electronics".
The aim of the School is to bring together PhD students, junior and senior scientists from universities and industry with the goal of intensive discussions about modelling and optimization of electronic circuits and device. The school is mainly directed at mathematicians, computer scientists and electrical engineers.
Developers of algorithms and programs shall come to know recent advances in micro- and nano- electronics as well as open problems coming from industry; industry shall come to know new software tools, mathematical models and methods and advanced numerical algorithms.
Both modules are addressed to Ph.D. students and researchers from University and Industry interested in the design of electronic circuits and devices. The various topics will be treated by experts from Academia and Industry and will be accompanied by computer exercises allowing a practical understanding of the concepts by performing concrete simulations with the aid of the Demostrator Platform developed within the Marie Curie RNT COMSON project. The School will take place in Baia Samuele Conference Centre, Sampieri (Ragusa), located along the charming seaside. In the Baia Samuele Conference Centre there is a study area, a computer classroom and Wi-Fi Internet connections for the use by the participants in the School.
