Catania Combinatorics

The Catania Combinatorial Group of the "Dipartimento di Matematica e Informatica" of the Catania University was founded by Professor  Mario Gionfriddo in 1983 and it has developed its scientific activity mainly in Graph Theory and Design Theory. These Theories are of great interest not only for their contribution to Discrete Mathematics, but also for their applications in Coding Theory, Statistics and Computer Science.

Since 1983 the work of the CCG has been directed and coordinated by Professor Gionfriddo, who has followed the school of Professor Curt Lindner (Auburn University, USA) and of the lamented Professor Francesco Speranza.

Since the beginning, the CCG participated in the international Panorama, not only for the researches developed continually with originality, but also for the collaboration with many of the principal researchers in Combinatorics. Just to name some of them (in alphabetic order): Elizabeth Billington, Charles Colbourn, Stanley Fiorini, Frank Harary, Josef Lauri, Curt Lindner, Eric Mendelsohn, Chris Rodger, Alex Rosa, Hao Shen, Anne Penfold Street, Zsolt Tuza, Vitaly Voloshin.
The CCG is supported by the MIUR, the University of Catania and the CNR-GNSAGA.

The CCG was represented in many international conferences by talks and by papers in the relevant proceedings.
