How to reach Acireale

Sicily is located in the mediterranean sea, south west of Italy's main boot. It is one of the most beautiful islands in Europe.

The best way to reach Acireale is by the new Catania Fontanarossa Airport. This is served by direct flights from several countries of the European Union, or by connecting flights from other airports, such as Rome or Milan.

To reach Acireale from the Catania Fontanarossa Airport follow the next instructions:

Take the public transport (AMT bus - n.457) from airport to bus/train station (bus schedules can be found here). Ticket is priced 0.80 euro and may be bought at the AMT ticket machines or AMT box. Bus stop is just outside of the arrival terminal.

Once you get to bus station (via D'amico), take another bus (Interbus or Etna Trasporti) to Acireale (bus schedules can be found here). Tickets are priced 2.10 euro and may be bought at Interbus ticket office.

How to reach the Hotel

Terminal Bus stop in Acireale is in Duomo's square (piazza Duomo), the main square in Acireale. From Duomo's square you may take Corso Umberto, the main street in Acireale, and after 300 meters you will find Garibaldi's square; walk into the square and, then, you will see the Hotel "Grande Albergo Maugeri" on your right side. Here is a map of the area.

NOTE: in Duomo's square (piazza Duomo) the City Hall of Acireale is located, which is the venue of NICSO2007.
