Facebook meets the University of Catania at

"More than just socialising"
DMI proudly announces the first official visit by Facebook engineers. The first FB-DMI event will give its attendees a feeling of what's going on under the bonnet at Facebook. This'll probably showcase the cunning techniques and, generally speaking, the amount of work that lies behind the biggest social network worldwide. If you're interested in programming, in hearing how code passes the correctness benchmark, and how it ultimately gets deployed, this is a no-miss event. Same if you just want to hear a bit about Facebook!
With a large delegation of Facebook software engineers and the opening by the University Rector, this is going to be a... big event!

FB UK: "Testing Mobile Applications at Facebook". Abstract: How Facebook continuously tests mobile applications for correctness in order to be able to rapidly ship new versions while over a hundred engineers contribute to the codebase.

FB UK: "Stress Testing Applications at Facebook". Abstract: We will talk about automated stress testing of Android applications and how to accurately measure impact of code changes on performance.

- 17:00-17:30 Uri Baghin, FB UK: "Source Control and Building at Facebook". Abstract: Learn how code goes from being text in an engineer's editor to binaries on servers and mobile devices.

"Static Code Analysis at Facebook". Abstract:
Learn how static code analysis can be used as a complementary approach to dynamic code analysis to identify defects in source code. An overview of Infer, the static analysis tool developed at Facebook, is also given.
